Seva is the essence of Sikhi.  Seva is selfless and love-inspired service where all Sikhs work with humbleness, humility, and utilize all their energies in the authentic service of God and Humanity.

To underscore the importance of Seva, each of the ten Sikh Gurus performed Seva teaching all Gursikhs that Seva is performed regardless of caste, color, creed, on the basis of equality, and when action is needed.

ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਤ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਹਕਾਮੀ ॥ ਤਿਸ ਕਉ ਹੋਤ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ

One who performs selfless service, without thought of reward, shall attain his Lord and Master.

The Kalsi Family’s Seva for the Haripur Khalsa Community

The Kalsi Family is honored to serve the Haripur Khalsa community through dedicated acts of Seva. Their commitment manifests in two primary forms: hosting an annual Akhand Path and organizing projects that contribute to the betterment of the community.

Annual Akhand Path

Each year, from December 28 to December 30, members of the Kalsi family travel from Kenya, England, and Canada to join their local relatives in hosting an Akhand Path at the Yadgari Gurudwara | Baba Deep Singh Ji Shaheed. This spiritual event brings together family and community members in devotion and unity.

Community Projects

In addition to the Akhand Path, the Kalsi Family takes initiative in organizing and executing various projects aimed at improving the Haripur Khalsa community. These efforts reflect their ongoing dedication to uplifting and enriching the lives of community members.

Haripur Khalsa Nursery School: Recent Developments and Rehabilitation Plans 

Haripur Khalsa Nursery School currently operates with five classrooms and serves a total of 55 students. The school is dedicated to providing quality education and fostering a supportive learning environment for its young learners.

Improvements in 2021-2022

The Kalsi Family undertook and completed a series of projects aimed at improving school facilities. These initiatives included painting the classrooms to create a more welcoming atmosphere and supplying new desks, which enhanced the comfort and functionality of the learning spaces.

Challenges Identified in Late 2025

By late 2025, several significant challenges had emerged at the school. The Head Teacher became disabled and required the use of a wheelchair, highlighting accessibility concerns within the school premises. Additionally, the condition of the school deteriorated, with only two classrooms remaining operational and the lavatory services across the entire school becoming nonfunctional.

Rehabilitation and Accessibility Initiatives for early 2026

Looking ahead to 2026, the Kalsi Family is collaborating with the Head Teacher to secure permission for a series of rehabilitation projects. The planned efforts include restoring two classrooms to working condition, fully repairing and reinstating lavatory services for all students and staff, and installing concrete pathways throughout the school. These improvements are specifically designed to enhance accessibility, ensuring safe and convenient mobility for disabled individuals and those using wheelchairs.
